At the heart of this technological leap is the successful co-existence of QKD alongside the high-volume traffic of conventional Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) data signals. The project’s pinnacle was the transmission of quantum-secure data at an unprecedented speed of 400Gbit/s over a 184km fibre link.
